Date: January 26 to 29, 2019

Location: Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach, 3635 Fashion Way, Torrance, California 90503

Abstract:Facilitate sessions where the Authors will present their MBE topic solicit consensus on the explanations as described in the working versions of the DEIX encyclopedia. Then solicit feedback on the lists of relevant standards, then, agree to the priority and the applicability to exchanging MBE information between buyers, suppliers, and disciplines. Also, A working session to evolve the current state of the Digital Engineering Information Exchange models. The team will engage in collaborative sessions to model the digital viewpoint for Model-Based Engineering (MBE) Information in the first 1/2. Then the team will work to develop the logical model for exchanging MBE information between buyers, suppliers, and engineering disciplines.

DEIX Presentations at 2018 NDIA SE Conference

Date: Oct. 24 to Oct. 26, 2018

Location: 2900 Bayport Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in the Audubon Conference Room

Abstract: As the Department of Defense (DoD) digital engineering effort has advanced, a need has emerged for a way to articulate the exchange of graphical and non-graphical digital artifacts among diverse stakeholders and digital technologies. The DoD Systems Engineering office proposes a construct, the Digital Engineering Information Exchange Model (DEIXM), that can form the foundation for an agreed-upon approach across the aerospace and defense sectors of government, industry, and academia. Fluid and seamless exchanges of digital artifacts enhances our ability to maintain a technological edge. As the U.S. Government collaborates with industry and academia on the realization of a DEIXM, we can enable parties to offer, request, and exchange digital artifacts. To achieve this end, we are broadening our initial DoD-focused development through collaboration with NDIA and INCOSE. The outcome of this initiative will be a DEIXM that establishes conventions on how the engineering of systems defines, creates, uses, and exchanges digital artifacts for the life cycle management of its systems and products. The desired benefits of a DEIXM result in full-spectrum solutions for digital engineering, private and public leaders innovating the way we do business, and technical practitioners improving their performance.

DEIXWG Inaugural Meeting at INCOSE IS 2018

Date: Jul. 9, 2018; 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Location: 1000 H Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 at Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel in the Burnham Conference Room

Purpose: This was the inaugural meeting for the DEIXWG (pronounced dex-wig). This meeting is derived from the Digital Artifacts Team Challenge at the INCOSE IW 2018. The purpose is to discuss the way forward for digital artifacts under this working group, present current thinking on the subject, and propose ways for volunteers to participate

NDIA Modeling and Simulation Committee, Digital Artifacts Workshop

Date: Aug. 13 - Aug. 14, 2018

Location: Lockheed Martin, Maritime Plaza, 1201 M St SE, Washington DC 20003

Workshop focus – Digital models and data exchange. Define what a portable model is and the users and interfaces. This is a very non trivial topic that our OSD sponsor is asking for industry help to refine. Last year we looked at digital system models to support acquisition, this year we extend into how those digital models can interoperate.
