Beginner query

Hi all,

How can i implement DDS in my application without using open splice or open DDS infrastructure.

Can the infrastructure required for DDS be created without these solutions?

thanks

If your question is regarding

If your question is regarding those specific two products (OpenSplice and OpenDDS), then the answer is yes.  There are many other providers of DDS implementations. Most notably RTI Data Didstribution Service, Twin Oaks OpenDDS, Gallium Visual Systems InterCOM DDS, etc.  You can find a list of providers here:  http://portals.omg.org/dds/category/web-links/vendors

Now if your question is wether you need to use some DDS Implementation to use DDS, then the practical answer is no. In order to have an application use DDS you need to have some library that implements the DDS API and produces/consumes the DDS-RTPS Wire Protocol messages.  This is not a trivial thing to do.  The standards are open, so of course anybody could implement them, but in doing so you would be in fact "creating your own DDS middleware implememtation".  So one way or another applications that use DDS are always doing so by leveaging some DDS middleware implementation.

I know that I can boot

I know that I can boot straight into xbmc, thesis abstract sample which is great because the reduced startup time is a major reason for this. however, I was wondering, if I do this, is there a browser and support for any torrent programmes within xbmc itself? thesis paper ideas i'm not talking about downloading films, i'm talking about downloading tv that is on channels i pay for but i missed due to being at work or whatever. It's not such a big issue if that isn't a possibility, I can always just boot into windows educational administration thesis and leave stuff downloading, then when i actually need to watch it i can boot into xbmc also, if i boot into just xbmc, will any peripherals be supported, such as a blu-ray drive? any advice is greatly appreciated
