**Request For Information (RFI)** is a general request to the computer industry, academia, and any other interested parties to submit information about a particular technology area to one of the [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:o:omg]]'s TFs. Information received in response to an RFI is typically used by a TF to formulate one or more RFPs.
