A sample represents an atom of data information as returned by a [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:d:data_reader|Data Reader’s]] read/take operations. It consists of two parts; SampleInfo and the Data itself. The Data part is the data as produced by the [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:p:publisher|Publisher]]. The Sample Info contains additional information related to the data provided by the [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:d:data_distribution_service_dds]] such as a unique [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:k:key|key]] and its associated [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:q:quality_of_service_qos_policies|QoS]] policies.
