The **Presentation Layer** is layer 6 of the 7-layer [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:o:osi]]. It is used to present data to the [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:a:applayer]] (layer 7) in an accurate, well-defined and standardized format.

The Presentation Layer is sometimes called the [[ddsf:public:guidebook:06_append:glossary:s:syntax|Syntax]] Layer.
