===== Liveliness QoS =====

**Liveliness QoS** offers the following settings to detect failures on the publishing node:

  * **AUTOMATIC** \\
  <wrap>Infrastructure managed (default), leases are renewed automatically by the service. Only process failures can be detected this way.</wrap> \\ 
  * **MANUAL_BY_PARTICIPANT** \\
  <wrap>[[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:a:application|Application]] managed, the entire [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:d:domain_participant|Domain Participant]] renews its lease when one of its contained Entities asserts its liveliness, either explicitly or implicitly.</wrap> \\
  * **MANUAL_BY_TOPIC** \\
  <wrap>Application managed, each [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:d:data_writer]] is responsible for renewing its own lease, either implicitly or explicitly.</wrap>
