The **Presentation Layer** is layer 6 of the 7-layer [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:o:osi]]. It is used to present data to the [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:a:applayer]] (layer 7) in an accurate, well-defined and standardized format.

The Presentation Layer is sometimes called the [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:s:syntax|Syntax]] Layer.
