**Sequenced Packet Exchange (SPX)** is a [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:p:protocol|protocol]] in the IPX/SPX protocol stack that corresponds to a connection-oriented [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:t:transportlayer|transport layer]] protocol in the [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:o:osi|OSI Model]]. Being reliable and connection-oriented, it is analogous to the [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:t:tcp]] of TCP/[[[[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:i:ip]], but it is a datagram protocol, rather than a stream protocol.
