: **Note**: The following is an excerpt from the official ISO catalog. It is provided here as a convenience and is not authoritative. Refer to the original document as the authoritative reference. ==== Scope ==== //ISO/IEC 9075-2 specifies embedded [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:s:sql|SQL]] for the programming languages: Ada, C, COBOL, Fortran, MUMPS, Pascal, and PL/I. This part of ISO/IEC 9075 defines similar features of Database language SQL that support embedding of SQL-statements into programs written in the Java™ [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:p:programlang|programming language]] (Java is a registered trademark of Sun Microsystems, Inc.). The embedding of SQL into Java is commonly known as “SQLJ”. This part of ISO/IEC 9075 specifies the [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:s:syntax|syntax]] and semantics of SQLJ, as well as mechanisms to ensure binary [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:p:portability|portability]] of resulting SQLJ applications. In addition, it specifies a number of Java packages and their contained classes (including methods).// //Throughout this part of ISO/IEC 9075, the terms “SQLJ” and “SQL/OLB” are used synonymously.// //**NOTE** Additional explanatory material (non-normative) about certain facilities defined in ISO/IEC 9075-2 can be found in ISO/IEC TR 19075-3.// ==== See Also ==== * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part1]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part2]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblangsql_part3]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part4]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part9]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part11]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part13]] * [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.b_stds:tech:iso:dblang_sql_part14]] /**=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- /* To add a discussion page to this page, comment out the line that says ~~DISCUSSION:off~~ */ ~~DISCUSSION:on|Outstanding Issues~~ ~~DISCUSSION:off~~
