The following is a proposal for a [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:c:cli]] for accessing [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:d:dido | Distributed Immutable Data Objects (DIDOs) ]] using a text-based [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:i:interface|interface]] to interact with the [[dido:public:ra:1.2_views:2_tech_views:2-nodenet:2_node:3_platform | DIDO Platform]]. The CLI allows the user (person or application) to interact with the DIDO Platform by entering text commands at a prompt and receiving a responses as text. Usually, the CLI is an [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:a:application|application]] running within an [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:o:os]] using a [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:c:cmdshell]] on the same machine as the DIDO Platform or using a [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:s:ssh]] at a prompt by typing single commands into the interface and receiving a reply in the same way.
CLI is quite different from the [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:g:gui]] that is presently being used in the latest operating systems.
