**Information Assurance (IA)** are measures that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:a:availability|availability]], integrity, [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:a:authentication|authentication]], [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:c:confidentiality|confidentiality]], and [[dido:public:ra:xapend:xapend.a_glossary:n:nonrepudiation|non-repudiation]]. These measures include providing for restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.
