Proof of Identity (PoI)

Return to Consensus Mechanism

Proof of Identity (PoI) is just like that of the authorized identity. PoI is a cryptographic confirmation for a users’ private key that is being attached to each particular transaction. Each identified user can create and manage a block of data that can be presented to others in the network.

This blockchain consensus model ensures the authenticity and integrity of the created data. And thus, is a good choice for introducing smart cities.Webpage: BHARDWAJ

Dhariwal defines Proof of Identity (PoI) as:

Proof of Identity (PoI) is the concept of PoI is to compare the private key to an authorized identity. Proof of Identity (PoI) is basically cryptographic evidence (a piece of data) that tells that any user knows a private key that compares to an authorized identity and is cryptographically attached to a specific transaction. Every individual from an existing group can create a block of data and present it to anyone for instance to the processing node. 1)
