| | <p>After introductions we had a quick overview of our open workgroup efforts for; UnifiedPOS, Fiscal API, Retail Tender, Digital Receipt, RCSD and Ontology including the status of the open RFC and RFP's. The AB Plenary on Monday reviewed and provided comments for the Digital Receipt API RFP. Edits were made through the week and AB accepted the RFP on Thursday. The Retail Communications Service Device (UPOS v1.16) was not able to be fully reviewed in time due to an AB scheduling mistake. The AB committed to complete their review over the next few weeks and have an email vote. RCSD had a vote-to-vote Monday, and final vote to approve submission Wednesday morning.<br /> |
| | The Finalization Task Force(FTF) chartered by the OMG Domain Tech Committee (DTC) for WS-POS v1.3.1 completed and submitted the FTF report. On Thursday the Architecture Board voted to accept the FTF finalization report for the WS-POS v1.3.1 standard!<br /> |

| | <p>Next, Ron Zahavi from Microsoft made a presentation to the retail team regarding the IIC's Security Maturity Model framework and solicited help to align retail use cases and care abouts in their practitioners guide. The link to the presentation is available below.</p> |

| | <p>The Location work team shared their progress and strategy for an RFP and papers – Andy Mattice and Vivian Underwood</p> |

| | <li>Review and convert Location Best Practices document to OMG style. Release the document 2 weeks ahead of Amsterdam meeting to improve author membership for the follow-up to refresh the Location in Retail technical standards.</li> |
| | <li>Create RFP for new extension to Location in Retail. The ARTS standard consisted of 2 volumes. Some old use-cases do not need to carry forward, some new use-cases are needed to expose new data requirements. Prepare the RFP to be submitted at the Amsterdam meeting, while at the same time starting the effort to define the new Location in Retail standards. Invite all the previous team members to join a call in Amsterdam, and solicit them to join a new team at that meeting.</li> |
| | <li>Depending on timing, might move the RFP out to the next scheduled meeting (Nashville) but still form the Location spec team.</li> |
| | <li>At the Nashville meeting we should be underway with a new team working on the Location in Retail spec (reorganizing the use-cases and investigating what to add).</li> |
| | <li>Have a working session at the Nashville meeting, and bring in folks from other OMG teams to review our effort and provide feedback.</li> |

| | <p>After Lunch, John Glaubitz lead a discussion on the retail ontology in the context of the term Documents for their relations to receipts. Detailed minutes of this portion are available separately below and on OneDrive.</p> |

| | <p>Bart McGlothin with Matthew Hause (from the AB) lead a final review of Digital Receipt API RFP, completed edits and voted to approve re-submission to AB (as highlighted above).</p> |

| | <p>Leonid Rubakhin finished the day with a working session for the Retail Tender RFC starting with the elements selected from the POSLog standard, and going through several tender types and their differences. Discussion included Cash: Local vs. National vs. Foreign, what is currency.</p> |
| | |
| | <p>On Thursday we started the day with a presentation of Visible Light Communication (Li-Fi) technology and its uses in retail by Farid Bicharch CTO of AASA. The link to the presentation is available below.</p> |

| | <p>After the break, Claude Baudoin shared the progress that the OMG Cloud SIG has been making in cloud services. Discussion concluded with ideas on updating our retail cloud white papers and template RFP for retailers.</p> |

| | <p>Many discussions over the two days provided excellent topics and new efforts to include in our retail road-map. In Summary; Security Maturity Models for Retail, updates to Cloud guidance papers, Business Process Models, and Location. The updated retail road-map is available below.</p> |

| | <p>The June meeting will mark the 2-year anniversary for the merger of ARTS into the OMG. Following the historic conventions of ARTS in the past where chair's filled the role for 2 year terms, it will be time to elect new chairs for the RDTF. Nominations were opened and the following people were nominated and accepted; David Miller, Andy Mattice, and Leonid Rubakhin. Nominations will remain open until the end of May. To nominate someone, please send an e-mail to <a href="mailto:[email protected]?body=I%20would%20like%20to%20nominate%20___%20for%20the%20retail%20domain%20task%20force%20chair.&subject=%5BOMG%5D%20Nomination%20for%20Retail%20Chair">[email protected]</a>. Before the conclusion of the June meeting in Amsterdam we will hold a vote to elect the new chairs who will take office at the close of the meetings.</p> |
