INCOSE 2015 MBSE Workshop Breakout Session
Session Title: MBSE for Biomedical and Healthcare
Objectives
Provide information on current and emerging practices related to healthcare modeling and the integration of the large amount of data available in the healthcare domain.
Facilitate exchange on the topics of Healthcare related to stakeholder needs, current capabilities, and system context modeling.
Prioritize next steps & roadmaps in the identification of stakeholders needs and how MBSE can increase the capability to deliver more consistent and effective healthcare.
Summary
1. Session 1 (Stakeholder Needs) is an Outreach session to the biomedical and healthcare communities. The target participants are:
Healthcare delivery professionals (doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, hospital biomedical/clinical engineers, representatives of professional societies, etc.)
Payers – representatives from the insurance industry, Medicare, Medicaid, and others (from other systems/countries, etc.)
Regulators and standards developers (representatives from agencies and organizations like the FDA, AAMI, ISO, etc.)
Equipment, facilities and service providers (representatives from healthcare industry supply chain – e.g., HSCA, medical device manufacturers, IT and communications service providers, healthcare facilities operations, ambulatory services, universities and colleges, etc.)
2. Session 2 (Current Capabilities) is a hybrid “Outreach” and “In-reach” session that engages individuals (INCOSE and non-INCOSE) who specialize in modeling and simulation in both healthcare and non-healthcare application environments. The target participants are:
People in the other industries (e.g., nuclear, aerospace, etc.) who are working with existing and under-development modeling and simulation tools that have aspects applicable to the biomedical and healthcare industries.
Regulators and standards developers with activities related to modeling and simulation (FDA, MDIC,
OMG, etc.)
3. Session 3 (System Context Model) is a hybrid “Outreach” and “In-reach” session that brings together individuals (INCOSE and non-INCOSE) to necessary to develop a system context model. The target participants are:
