A DIDO is focused on two elements of security:
Internet Security: intended to protect the data flowing through the network. A major part of the functionality of a DIDO is its distributed nature over the internet and trust that it processes valid and accurate transactions.
- Internet Security is essential in establishing trust to its success. Internet security is a catch-all term for a very broad issue covering security for transactions made over the Internet. Generally, Internet security encompasses browser security, the security of data entered through a Web form, and overall authentication and protection of data sent via Internet Protocol.1)
Information Security: intended to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information contained within the DIDO network.
- Information security (IS) is designed to protect the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA Triad) of computer system data from those with malicious intentions. 2)
