2.2.2.1.3 Security

return to Network View

A DIDO is focused on two elements of security:

Internet Security: intended to protect the data flowing through the network. A major part of the functionality of a DIDO is its distributed nature over the internet and trust that it processes valid and accurate transactions.

Internet Security is essential in establishing trust to its success. Internet security is a catch-all term for a very broad issue covering security for transactions made over the Internet. Generally, Internet security encompasses browser security, the security of data entered through a Web form, and overall authentication and protection of data sent via Internet Protocol.1)

Information Security: intended to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information contained within the DIDO network.

Information security (IS) is designed to protect the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA Triad) of computer system data from those with malicious intentions. 2)
