Welcome to the Retail wiki

I hope you all are having a great 2019 so far! We are looking forward to working together solving the toughest problems in Retail, please join our bi-weekly calls and the next Face to Face meeting. Attendance is open to everyone (you do not have to be a member of the OMG to participate), but you must still abide by the OMG IPR and Anti-Trust policies (keep your secret sauce secret, please).

In addition to our standards development creating RFP’s and RFC’s at the Object Management Group Meetings we also want to improve our collaboration efforts by leveraging our LinkedIn group (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/1796388).

Up-to-date information regarding meetings, agendas and previous meeting minutes can be found HERE on our Retail Wiki, so check back often to find out what is happening at all times.

Friends, the time is upon us this coming week for the next Object Management Group (OMG) Quarterly Meeting and our 2-day Retail Domain Task Force (RDTF) virtual event on Wednesday/Thursday.

The specifications we’ve all come to know and love that was the work we did at the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) forges ahead into the new world of Post-Pandemic Retail.

Retailers: come join the call on Wednesday morning to learn about and provide valuable steering feedback into GS1-US’s upcoming “POS Test Kit”, a tool to provide stakeholders with an easy-to-use, accurate method to determine POS readiness and develop a roadmap for Sunrise 2027 - Beyond the U.P.C.

The Retail Industry Ontology (RIO) is marching forward making valuable progress each and every week. Wednesday afternoon will be a focus on Coupons with help from The Coupon Bureau ( https://www.thecouponbureau.org/ ) and investigating how our Fiscal API tax reporting interface intersects with the B2B invoicing standards from OpenPEPPOL ( https://peppol.eu/ ).

UnifiedPOS isn’t sitting still. The Fiscal API is the first interface in UPOS 2.0, moving us from serially attached devices to disconnected webapi microservices squarely in the realm of IoT. We will be digging deep to define high-level entities that impact Digital Receipt as the payload for Fiscal API.

Come one, come all. Don’t miss GS1’s session about Sunrise 2027 and the Beyond the U.P.C. POS test kit. See what’s coming for Fiscal API and Digital Receipt. Learn about new retail through the Retail Industry Ontology. Get your hands dirty in a work-session creating the future of retail!

Best regards,

Andy Mattice
