Driven by the INCOSE Board’s strategic objective to become a ‘model-based discipline,’ the Systems Engineering Transformation effort and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Initiative continue to expand upon the highly successful MBSE Workshop, now integrated further into the overall IW events. Similar to the International Workshop (IW) 2016, MBSE will be an integral activity occurring throughout the duration of the IW. In alignment with the INCOSE’s Systems Engineering Transformation strategy, this year’s agenda will focus on current practices, advancements and collaborative efforts across the systems modeling community.
This page provides an overview of the MBSE-related information from working groups meeting at the 2017 IW. Each group is encouraged to maintain a meeting page linked from the meeting schedules below, IW application, or INCOSE website. Presentations and other materials can be linked for download from each of these pages.
Accelerate transformation of systems engineering to a model-based discipline
The following PDF file contains the IW 2017 MBSE Workshop Agenda. (Note: the Saturday afternoon schedule has been modified slightly from the published program. Please refer to the table below for the updated lineup on Saturday afternoon.)
This agenda includes the main MBSE workshop schedule on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday. Presentation materials for the workshop will be linked from the tables below as they become available.
The agenda also summarizes other INCOSE working groups are meeting during IW17 with coverage of MBSE-related topics. Some of the Challenge and Activity Teams of the MBSE Initiative teams are still included, but increasingly most of these are shifting to coverage within an INCOSE Technical Working Group. Each such group is welcome to continue maintaining either an INCOSE website page or a page on the MBSE wiki (or both) to publish any current or historical material.
Each group is responsible for arranging their own meeting rooms, posting their agendas and related content, and so on. Each group can also provide a link to its own pages below with further details of its meeting schedule, presentations and documents for download, or other information. Please feel free to use the section for each group below to include any such material. We will continue to organize this material as it's made available. Any group that would like assistance in editing their own pages or uploading presentation materials should contact one of the members of the INCOSE MBSE Initiative team.
For people attending in person: please see the INCOSE IW program you receive at the registration desk or application for specifics about meeting room locations, break times, etc.
MBSE-related content is increasingly and naturally becoming part of the “traditional” INCOSE working groups (WGs) or new ones that are being formed. We have tried to capture all model-based related activities in the program below, but there may be cases we are not aware of. Please let us know if you are aware of an activity we are missing. We encourage MBSE Workshop attendees to look around and attend and/or join other, existing INCOSE groups to collaborate and explore how they can incorporate MBSE as part of their own roadmaps.
This page will continue to be updated with meeting details before and during the IW.
All MBSE Workshop sessions are being held in Salon E, with the exception of the MBSE reception on Sunday, which will be held in the Zen Garden.
Links to presentations will be added to the agenda items below as they become available.
